Nicolai Hübner is a Urology Resident at the Department of Urology, Medical University of Vienna since October 2016. Since October 2019, he has been working towards his PhD in the Vienna N790 Doctor of Applied Medical Science programme at the Medical University of Vienna. His thesis is titled “Interobserver variability of multiparametric prostate MRI, improvement of accuracy by inclusion of clinical parameters.”

He obtained his medical doctor degree from the Medical University of Vienna in 2016. His research topic was “Validation of lymphovascular invasion as independent prognostic marker for biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy – a retrospective analysis.”

His main research interest lies in prostate cancer imaging and diagnosis, minimal invasive and focal therapy of localised disease, as well as locally advanced and castration naïve metastatic prostate cancer. He has authored original articles and review articles in peer-reviewed journals such as European Urology, Current opinion in urology, Urologic Oncology, Prostate cancer and prostatic diseases.

Dr Hübner has been leading and supervising the MR-Fusion Biopsy and Prostate Cancer Focal Therapy programme at the Medical University of Vienna, Department of Urology, since June 2017. He has also participated in the Individual Patient Data (IPD) prognostic study of the WHO 1973 and 2004 Classification Systems for Grade and the 2006 EORTC risk score in patients with primary TaT1 urothelial carcinoma of the bladder.
