Morgan Rouprêt, MD, PhD, is an Academic Professor of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Sorbonne University, in the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, in Paris, France. His area of specialization is onco-urology, with a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and robot-assisted laparoscopic procedures in urological cancers. He holds a PhD in onco-urology and genetic markers. Prof. Rouprêt is a member of several national and international working groups in his chosen field, including those of Association Francaise d’Urologie (Urofrance; active member since 2007 and contributor to numerous French-national guidelines in onco-urology), and of the European Association of Urology (EAU; active member since 2008 and key contributor to current EAU guidelines in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma). He has served as Chair of the Section of Oncological Urology (ESOU) of the EAU since 2019. A committed writer and researcher, Prof. Rouprêt is recognized as a lead or contributing author of more than 740 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and as having authored (or co-authored) several textbooks in the field of urology; he serves (or has served) on the editorial boards of European Urology, BJU international and World Journal of Urology. He has been the honourable recipient of numerous professional awards from national associations and institutions including Académie Nationale de Médecine and Académie Nationale de Chirurgie, and of numerous EAU accolades, including several ‘best publication’ prizes, and the highly prestigious Crystal Matula Award, which is given annually to the most promising most young European urological academician.
