Prof. Paul Hofman is a Professor of Pathology and Head of the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Pathology at Pasteur Hospital, Nice Sophia Antipolis University, France.

Prof. Hofman’s research is primarily focused on lung cancer, including molecular pathology, biomarkers, and diagnostics. He is also heavily involved in investigating the use of next-generation sequencing (NGS) approaches to link personalised medicine and molecular biology. Prof. Hofman has authored/co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Clinical Cancer Research, Annals of Oncology and Journal of Thoracic Oncology. Many of Prof. Hofman’s writings in NSCLC encompass molecular targets including EGFR, ALK, KRAS, and PD-L1.

He also serves as lead of the Carcinogenesis-related chronic active inflammation research project at the Institute of Research on Cancer and Aging in Nice (IRCAN). This project is focused on characterising signalling pathways regulating PD-L1 expression, and identifying alternative biomarkers that could serve as a PD-L1 companion test for the treatment of NSCLC with anti-PD1/PD-L1 immunotherapies.
